Label guide for German Elvis pressings

Label guide for German Elvis pressings - 45's and EP's.

For many years the different pressings of the german 45's and EP's were described with the following description:

Triangle and lines (1956-1958)
Triangle but no lines (1958-1960)
RCA label (1961-1963)
Small RCA Victor (1963-1964)
Large RCA Victor (1964-1968)

This was adequate for most collectors and still are. But it wasn't until 1985, when the books Rillen Revue vol. 1 and 2 were released, that collectors had a common language dealing with all different labels; s1,s2,s3 etc. The gentlemens Helmut Radermacher and Wolfgang Kühnel, authors of the two books, did a good job back then. But even they made some omissions, which can determine a release more exactly.

The latest effort covering all German Elvis labels was done by my collector friend Peter Baumann from Austria. In his Elvis on Vinyl part 1, there's a label guide, not complete either but slightly better than the one release in 1985 with regards to the orange label releases. But remember it's still based on the same abbreviatories as used in 1985, and are used by Elvis specialists only. And there's still a lot of collectors who is using the 1985 descriptions instead of the revised ones used in "Elvis on vinyl" from the 90's.

The label guide shown here, is a systematically list of the information given in "Rillen Revue", "Elvis On Vinyl" and my own label guide. I have listed the abbreviations used in "Rillen Revue" and "Elvis on vinyl" together with my own abbreviations. I have tried to make it fit the allready known abbreviations, to make as less confusion as possible. Please let me know what you think. Now to the facts
