Norwegian pressed Elvis Presley records:

Many collectors all over the world have not heard or have not seen norwegian pressed Elvis records. In many ways they are as rare or even more rare than those from more exsotic countries as South Africa, Argentina, Peru, Israel and others.
They started to press 78's in 1956 and singles/EP's probably late '56 or early '57. This was for a limited time only and as early as 1960, this production stopped. From then on it was seldom any Elvis records made in Norway. Almost every record sold in Norway from 1960 and up until now was manufactured in Germany or England.
As of today I do not know of any collector here in Norway who has a complete norwegian pressed Elvis collection. I think this is an indicator of how rare many of those records actually are. I'm not saying that all are rare, but some items are very hard to find. Of cours there are some singles that are more easy to come by, like "Hard headed woman", "A fool such as I" and also EP's like "King creole vol.1".
Most of the norwegian 45's were pressed from german matrixes. For the 78rpm records this was not the case. Today I know of only one norwegian 78 pressed with german matrixes. To identify the records pressed using german matrixes, you have to take a closer look at the inner groove. If there is an S stamped in the wax, 180 degrees away from the matrixnumber, then you have a norwegian record, mastered and engraved in Germany, but pressed in Norway.
This discography is a list of every known record or sleeve with Elvis Presley pressed in Norway up until this day. There may excist more titles or also sleeves pressed/printed in Norway. Some titles are rumoured, but they will not be included in this list before they are confirmed to exist.
